Stan Lee To Make Posthumous Cameos

Stan Lee cameos Source: sohu.com Stan Lee, widely regarded as the king of the Marvel Universe, has passed away at age 95. It is no understatement to say that the Marvel franchise would not be the same, or may not exist at all, were it not for him. He is the mind behind some of the most beloved superheroes of all time, in fact, most of them as far as the Marvel Universe is concerned. Which is certainly nothing to take lightly. With his passing, many are taking the time to fully appreciate just how much the man did for the world of superheroes. Many others are sad that he will no longer be making the now-traditional and expected cameo in virtually every Marvel film. But, it turns out the man has a great sense of humour, and likes to plan ahead. Despite having shuffled off his mortal coil he will still be appearing in four up and coming Marvel films. Reason to celebrate for some, but others are questioning if the Marvel Cinematic Universe is shamelessly cashing in on his face, even with the legendary man now 6 feet under.

A Revolutionary Creator

It was Stan Lee’s unique approach to superheroes that made him stand apart. Superheroes before him had been one-note, righteous to the point of absurdity, and flawless. His approach however, was to combine average teenager life and a superhero alternate identity, delivering believable, human characters, even if they did happen to have super powers. It made comics more relatable than ever before, birthing a new era for the comic world. Ready to win? Claim your casino bonus at Platinum Play and gain the advantage! Iron Man, for example, was only co-created by Stan Lee and visually created by someone else entirely. Either way, Stan Lee had a hand in creating successful superhero after successful superhero, meaning that it was only a matter of time, really before they finally made a proper transition onto cinema screens. Starting with Iron Man, this finally happened.

Eager To Please

Following Lee’s recent passing, Kevin Feige, CEO of Marvel, mentioned in an interview with Variety that Stan Lee did indeed have remaining cameos. But refused to say which films, specifically. The approach smacked of teasing fans with the idea of seeing the Marvel icon’s face a few last times, pushing them to attend every related release, in hopes of catching a glimpse. Many fans were not impressed. It would not be the first time that companies have used the passing of a celebrity as a means to push for publicity either, which raises questions about the entertainment industry as a whole. On the other hand, Stan Lee has clearly filmed the four cameos well in advance, which seems to suggest that he knew this exact situation might arise. If anything, he may well have intended these last few appearances in Marvel films as his last offering to his fans. He might even have been annoyed if they had been left out in the case of his passing. Cameos have more or less been confirmed via various sources, however, for Captain Marvel, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Avengers 4, and Spider-Man: Far From Home but we’ll have to wait and see if this is indeed correct.
