Bad Blood
Bad Blood analyses the songs associated with ten popular rivalries and breakups over the last decade to reveal which artist made the most money from singing about other musicians.
The financial analysis takes the all-time streams of each song at a value of $0.00437 per stream, and then divides these earnings by the number of months since a song’s release.
Data is gathered from the Spotify API, Billboard, Chartmasters, Discogs and Digital Music News. The number of streams per song were accurate as of 9 July and have been scaled to account for the social media presence of each featured artist - based on their Twitter followers - to remove any popularity bias. Currency is US dollars.
